Dr. James Reason<\/h3>

James T. Reason<\/strong>\u00a0(1 de mayo de 1938 \u2013 5 de febrero de 2025) fue profesor de\u00a0psicolog\u00eda\u00a0en la\u00a0Universidad de Manchester, donde se gradu\u00f3 en 1962 y fue profesor titular desde 1977 hasta 2001. Escribi\u00f3 libros sobre\u00a0errores humanos, incluyendo aspectos como la\u00a0distracci\u00f3n,\u00a0factores humanos en aviaci\u00f3n,\u00a0errores de mantenimiento\u00a0y\u00a0gesti\u00f3n de riesgospara accidentes organizacionales.<\/p>

En 2003, la\u00a0Universidad de Aberdeen\u00a0le otorg\u00f3 un\u00a0doctorado honoris causa. Fue miembro de la\u00a0British Academy, la\u00a0British Psychological Society, la\u00a0Royal Aeronautical Society\u00a0y el\u00a0Royal College of General Practitioners. Recibi\u00f3 un\u00a0CBE<\/a>\u00a0en 2003 por sus servicios en la reducci\u00f3n de los riesgos en la\u00a0atenci\u00f3n sanitaria. Entre sus muchas contribuciones se encuentra la introducci\u00f3n del\u00a0modelo del queso suizo<\/a>, un marco conceptual para la descripci\u00f3n de accidentes basado en la noci\u00f3n de que los accidentes solo ocurrir\u00e1n si fallan m\u00faltiples barreras, creando as\u00ed un camino desde una causa inicial hasta las consecuencias finales no deseadas, como da\u00f1os a personas, bienes, el medio ambiente, etc. Reason tambi\u00e9n describi\u00f3 la primera teor\u00eda completamente desarrollada de una\u00a0cultura justa\u00a0en su libro de 1997,\u00a0Managing the Risks of Organizational Accidents.<\/em><\/p>
